Sylentnight's Internship Experience Day !

So I thought why not?

I'll be able to record what I did exactly today at school and do some blog stuff for no reason.

So my internship is with my school's 'Outreach program'. Outreach Program is where student ambassador's give tours to people visiting the school and then there will be a meeting with some of the staff talking about how the school system works and then the visitor's are free to tour the campus.

I'll be working with two mentor's for the next four weeks on a specific project that is to help them out as well as give me a grade.

So my first day started out with me walking into the school and visiting my mentor. She's a blond women. As tall as me which is not saying much because I'm pretty sure I'm either around 4' to 5' ish. So I went to her office. My teacher walked in and gave a desk ornament. (It was four fake mini roses in a pot.) I found it kind of weird but really nice at the same time so I went along with it. Afterwards, I had an online chat with my second mentor who I will be seeing next week. We had a chat about what type of project I should be doing and what I'm suppose to get from it.

It was decided that I would need to do a project that would record the 'visitor's experience' and when I finish documenting it, I would make it public and have people not a part of the school system look at it. but I really don't have a fix way to do it. They figure it would be better if I decided what I should do for a type of project. Like if I wanted to do a pamphlet to be shown in the front office I would create a pamphlet online and it would be displayed by the front office. So in order to decide what I should do, my mentor suggested for me to interview different teacher's and students apart of the Outreach program.

So I spent my day looking for people to talk to and interviewing to get ideas of what to do and an idea of what is expected of me or some advice that I really needed since I'm new to all of this and I really hate talking to new people or people i don't know in general. It was actually pretty fun to do so though I was nervous as hell and felt like I had stomach problems. I had a talk with the founder of my school (which was pretty awesome and got a nice gift: a journal log, a pen, and a trinket to remember my dead teacher), had a talk with the old president of the Outreach Program (who gave me a whole lot of advice for about 25 minutes and gave me a lot of data to work on), and then had a chat with a guy from Israel (who had a lot to say about how different school systems are here and at Israel [though my school is pretty different from almost every school here in the country though ] and how he liked it here).

All in all, it was a productive day and I actually enjoy doing what I was doing.

my mentor is not here tomorrow so I will be all by myself doing some other interviews then I'm off to home. Might do a blog tomorrow if I'm not on my ass being lazy.
