Well, I finally posted another part of Lyrical Days.

And I don't like it. Now, I normally act like this. The whole, "Woah is me, my writing sucks" spiel and all, but this time I actually have a reason for it.

The pacing is off.

I had put some stupid limit on how long I wanted this part to go, but rather than just write naturally, I tried to constrain myself within those limits. There are parts of this chapter that I cut out entirely (parts that are gone because like an Idiot I just deleted them rather than stored them somewhere) that I feel could have made this chapter much better.

Like my habit of starting a chapter with a vague italics dream like sequences that do nothing but amuse me. Oh, and develop Shirou's character, that's vaguely important isn't it?

So, yeah, I have a chapter that I'm going to have to rewrite, but now I have a better idea of what I'm good at and what I'm bad at.

    My question would be, "If you were dissatisfied with it, why did you release it at all?"

    I posted it and felt like, "Meh, a half finished draft wouldn't be that bad... right?", but I can't really look at that chapter without remembering that, well, it's not really written the way I want it.

    Sorry to hear, Heroslayer, but I'm glad at least that you're thinking about it. That shows that you want to do your best and you care about taking action towards doing that. ^^

    What I do in my case is wait a few days to gather things in my head and then it all fits straight to it.

    Nothing bad with being quick in this case though.

    I also tend to cling onto finished chapters now, just to make sure that things still fits after not looking at it for a few days. And remember Hero, I eventually had to rewrite 6 chapters :P

    It also gives me a good excuse to write lemon snippets to pass the time :P ( although the 10k limit on blog entries is killing me :P)
