I feel like a blog would be the best place to put this at. I'll probably toss up a link to it in my signature.
I was gonna use Sakura for this but I'm still all Sakura'd out from my Sakura Binge on the previous weekend. o3o So you get Aoko. I'm sure there will be no complaints on that?
Anyways now let us begin this amazing adventure into the world of BOOBIES!
![]()
The first and now important part about knowing how to draw boobies is knowing what they are.
So what are boobies you may ask? Well, to put it simply, they are. Yes, Yes, those magnificent bags of meat that men go ga-ga over are nothing more than sacks of fat and glands (and I guess skin, veins and arteries. But mostly they are fat and glands.)fat and glandsfat and glands
Though it's not as if that matters becuase you don't see it, and it's becuase of that fat and glands that boobies are the way that they are (but mostly becuase of the fat).
And now that you know that we can get onto the actual how to draw portion of this tutorial.
Random Funfact: MEN. HAVE. BREASTS. When a baby is developing regardless of gender they develop breast tissue. When a girl goes through puberty her breasts develop because of estrogen this (usually) doesn't happen for men becuase of there high levels of testosterone and low levels of estrogen. You are now picturing male Hercules with boobies.
HOW TO DRAW BOOBIES.
When drawing breasts there is one thing that you DO NOT DO EVER but is constantly done even though it really shouldn't be.
And that is draw the boobies on the chest without drawing the boobie-less chest first. Now the reason you do this is the same reason you don't draw the clothes on a figure first, So you know where everything goes. You could ignore this if drawing someone with small breasts but I think it's better of following it anyways for consistency.
So let us begin;
(Warning: There is gonna be a little bit a medical science stuff nothing that should leave you confused but just a little)
Here is Aoko...Without boobs
She looks a bit like a loli/trap don't she?
Men and Wemon are not very different from each other under the skin the way are muscles are set up are exactly (as far as I know; I need to invest in some more anatomy books) the same. And the reason why you don't see women's muscle tone as easy as men (who both work out the same amount) is becuase women have a higher amount of fat in there bodies than men. The fat 'smooths' us out, so to speak.
As shown in this image is a (rough) layout of the muscles on a Aoko. In the image you can see that the Pectoral Muscle (Pec) runs into the Deltoid and the Pec is partially covered by it. I'm just noting this now becuase it will be important later.
And here is Aoko with boobs and with her muscles showing. The breasts rests upon the lower part of the pecs and basically hang off. They aren't attached by any muscles or anything. Breasts are basically sandwiched between the pectoral muscles and skin.
And here is Aoko's just boobs. Now you'll something about Aoko's breasts here they aren't circular. A extremely horribly common fault that people make is drawing breast using circles. DO NOT DO THIS. Breasts are NOT circular. Unless a woman is an robot (with the lol circle robot boobs) or is wearing clothing that shapes her breasts in a circle. And with the latter even then breasts still don't tend to be circilar.
The correct shape(s) to draw breasts in are either a tear drop shape or and oval shape. Even if you are drawing someone who has a more 'pointy' breast shape it's best to use either a tear drop or oval base then add the pointy-ness. This can be applied to any breast shape.
Another issue is one of the nipples. Some (it's not a very common issue) people tend to place the nipples to high, and centred on the chests and breasts. Nipples generally rest closer to the arms on men and women and very close to the bottom of the pectoral muscle. On women's breasts though then tend to more centered but still fall to the side. The vertical location of a woman's nipples can change depending on the size of her breasts, if she suffers from pitosis (breast sagging) and how severe her pitosis is.
The 'Breast Line'
The 'breast line' is an invisible line that run from the crease under the breasts (where the breasts end) up around the 'edge' of the (pecs) breasts into the deltoid.

Here is the the topmost right side of a person's torso showing the pec muscle. As I mentioned before the pec and the deltiod overlap. This overlap is what creates the 'breast line'
There is not much to say about this picture it illustrates the breasts line. (Though I didn't line the deltoid up properly but that doesn't matter.)
And that's basically everything I have to say on drawing boobs for this part. I'll be doing another part about the things that affect boobies.
Until then SEEYA~

P.S.: If I made any spelling mistakes or grammar errors. and if something I wrote didn't make sense please tell me.
P.P.S: I hope this wasn't a terrible jumbled mess of a tutorial. ;w; I suck at teaching.
EDIT: Fixed spelling error on 'deltoid'
