My dad is getting more subtle. This is very much a bad thing.

So my brother visited home last week from California. He showed my dad video chatting and my dad decided it was cool.

We tried to get it to work on his laptop, but we found out that his laptop didn't have a microphone. He was really disappointed so I reminded him that my computer had a camera and a mic built in. He told me where he hid it and I got my laptop out so he could video chat with my sister in law and her parents... oh and my brothers two dogs too.

Now the sweet thing is. I have my laptop back and I know that he didn't throw it away like he said he did a month ago.

The bitter thing is that I'm still grounded and I can't use the damn thing.

I keep having staring matches with it when my dad's not looking.

It's going to be a long summer...

    And the computer that he didn't even buy is something he can take away.

    I would poison his coffee/tea with laxatives, but that's just me. That's probably not a good idea though.

    Have you tried negotiation? Why did he ground you in the first place?

    He said in an earlier entry that his father grounded him and took it away because he thought he was faking being sick since he did not want to do a morning run. I think he now knows he actually WAS sick, but Heroslayer is apparently Asian and so that means Asian parents, and their mindset is mostly "My way or the highway."

    Until he moves out, he's pretty much under their yoke.

    Wait, Asian parents actually use the grounding method? Mine used to just hit me and when I got older that became a no-no so they just yell at me.

    Yup yup. My mom's like that. Except she used both grounding and smacking methods at the same time. Stubborn as hell and can detect anything. She freaks out over so many things man.

    For god sakes the house gets dirty so easy because YOUR GRANDCHILDREN ARE LIVING WITH YOU ALONG WITH YOUR OTHER TWO SONS AND DAUGHTER IN LAWS.

    My nieces and nephews take all the life out of me and I only just turned 18.

    Ugh.

    Maybe I was just spoiled, the only time I ever got grounded for something was when the police came over. I got hit maybe once.

    I might not have the background to comprehend this kind of thing.
