Salivary Gland Cyst - Could be vascular

Right below my tongue on the right, I've had a spot slowly swell over the last 2~ weeks. Got into the doctor today to have it checked out, after my father and I agreeing on the hypothesis of a cyst, to find out that it could be vascular.

I'm scared, admittedly.

Just got back from seeing a specialist in Knoxville. The spot under my tongue is specifically referred to as a "Ranula" (ran-yoo-lah") and it is a benign cyst that is not an immediate concern. I will need surgery, but I can wait until after Spring Final Exams are over.

    Admittedly, I don't know anyone who's ever had a salivary cyst before, but I know enough that it's no joke. My prayers are with you.

    I really hope they're able to help. Knoxville is the nearest 'bigger' city to me, incidentally. But I wish you a return of good health! Mouth problems suck and hurt and I'm sorry.

    Ah, a fellow TN resident? Neat. Though I have to admit up front I grew up in Texas and was born in Gainesville, Florida.

    Incidentally, I had a benign eye cyst that was operated on waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in middle school.
